Sesame Noodle Salad
1 (8oz) package linguine, cooked according to pkg, and drained with hot water (I prefer to use angel hair pasta in my dish)
¼ C rice vinegar
¼ C soy sauce
¼ C dark sesame oil
¼ C dark sesame oil
1 tsp. sugar
5 green onions, sliced
5 green onions, sliced
toasted sesame seeds (optional)
*½ Tsp chili paste (found in Asian section in grocery)
Stir together vinegar and soy sauce, oil and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in noodles and onions; sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve hot or cold,or room temp. Perfect for a picnic.
I add chopped carrot and cucmber to mine. If you want a heartier dish, add blackended chicken, shrimp or beef strips.
*If you cannot find chili paste, I recommend Tuong Ot Sriracha, or as I call "Red Rooster Sauce". This sauce that can be found in the asian food section of the store. You will only need a tsp, or 2...depending on how much heat you like. But even if you use 1/2 tsp, add it bc it adds alot to the dish.

This is SO different, yet looks quite yummy!
I've ordered this dish in tearooms/cafes, but I never could find the recipe. I'm definitely going to prepare this for my family.

Okay honey, you need to fix the date thingy on your comment section. I thought I was going nuts for a minute there when I was reading February 2009. (Actually, I'm already nuts, but this didn't help, lol.)
I've ordered this type of dish before and have always loved it! Here, where I live now, there is nothing remotely close to this type of cooking. Thanks to you, I can make it myself now!
This looks yummy AND simple. So great for a side dish of sooo many meals. Joni
